Demetrios Callimachos, a journalist, priest, and author, was born in Madytos (present-day Eceabat), Turkey. He was educated in Istanbul, Smyrna, and Athens, and came to the United States in 1914. He was active in many Greek and Greek American associations.
Olga, nee Andreou, was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1885. She obtained her teacher’s diploma from Athens University in Greece. Came to New York from Cairo with her husband in 1914. Studied at Moravian College in 1923 and 1924 as a special student and also took different courses at Lehigh, Rutgers and Columbia Universities. Olga and Demetrios were married in 1908.
